How to rent a car in Miami?

Go to our webpage www.acorentacar.com Click on reserve and fill out the form. If you have a VIP number, do not forget to enter it. Choose your vehicle class and all the extras needed for your rental. Enter all your personal information . It is important to included your flight number –if you have any-. Prepayment is required for peak seasons. Our system will let you know if you need to prepay in advance. Partials and total payments can be made during or after booking. Read our policies before making any payment. As soon as you get your reservation number you will receive an email with your itinerary. Any questions call 1-888-5260440 (US) or 0800-7368226 (Venezuela) or email us reserve@acorentacar.com. Emails will be replied in no more than 48 hours.

Can I take the car out of state of Florida?

No, our cars cannot be taken out of Florida. If you do, you are violating the contract and our insurance would be voided.

What is the minimum age rental policy?

The minimum age is 25. Renters between the ages 21 -24 need to pay underage fee.

Why are you quoting me a higher rental rate now compared to two weeks ago when I tried to book the same reservation?

Our prices are based on availability, location and many other factors. Car rental pricing is akin to airfare pricing. If you see very good rates make the reservation as soon as you can. We do not guarantee the price until the reservation is made.

Can I pay in advance for my reservation?

Yes, you can. You can pay the total or partial amount of your reservation through our webpage or in any of our offices

Can I modify an upcoming reservation?

Yes you can do it. Enter to www.acorentacar.com and press the VIEW/MODIFY/PREPAY/CANCEL tab, and enter your reservation number and your lastname.
Then, it shows to you the reservation summary and in the top right corner you will see the MODIFY button, press it and follow the instructions.

Can I cancel a reservation that I made online?

Yes, you can. Go to our webpage and cancel it. If you have prepaid online you need to call us or send an email to reserve@acorentacar.com in order to cancel and refund the money. Fees for cancellation may apply.

Can I return the car at my hotel?

It depends on the location where the vehicle is rented. Make arrangements with our customer service personnel. Charges may apply.

Can I drop off my car when your office is closed?

If you need to return the car during off hours, please make arrangements with our rental agents. If you leave the car in our parking lot when the office is closed you are liable for any damage to the car. The only people authorized to check in and receive the car are our representatives.

Will I be charged per mile?

All our rates are unlimited mileage. But unlimited mileage is not offered to Florida driver license holders. If you are using your Florida Driver license, you will have 100miles per day and 0.50 cents for each extra mile

Do you have road side assistance?

We offer two different options for roadside assistance: Basic roadside: covers if you are located less than 25 miles from any of our offices. Roadside Assistance 250: covers up to 250 miles from any of our offices. If you accepted one of them, depending on your distance from our office we will bring you help with any problem that you experience with our car. If you did not take roadside assistance service when rented the car, or if you are further than 250 miles from any of our offices you will be responsible for all the expenses to have a replacement car delivered to you plus all the expenses to bring the damaged car back to our offices and/or any other expenses incurred to solved your problem. If I do a booking in a website or portal different to www.acorentacar.com, can I modify, cancel or prepay it?

Yes, you can. Go to our webpage www.acorentacar.com and click VIEW/MODIFY/PREPAY/CANCEL.
You will need your reservation number and last name. If you have any problems, contact us by email reserve@acorentacar.com or call 1-888-5260440 (USA); 0800-7368226 (Venezuela)

How many additional drivers can I have in my contract?

You can add as many as you want. Charges apply for each of them.

Can I use my own insurance instead of buying yours?

Yes, you can. Your insurance must be FULL COVERAGE and transferable to rental car companies. If you use your own insurance you are liable for anything that happens to the car. In this case, you must bring your insurance policy card. We suggest you buy our LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER which is complete (includes tires and glasses) and gives you peace of mind in any accident.

Can I use my credit card insurance?

Yes, you can. It is your responsibility to know if your credit card offers or does not offer the Loss Damage waiver(LDW). In order to use your credit card coverage you need to decline our LDW at the moment of the rental. Open, close and pay the whole contract with the same credit card that you are using for the protection. You will be requested to sign a credit card form where you authorize ACO to charge any damage that happens to the car while in your possession. Any damage found in the car not shown in the check out slip will be your responsibility.

Who can drive my car?

Any person authorized in the contract with a valid drivers license and older than 21 years of age can drive your car. An extra charge for each additional driver applies. Aco might contact the DMV to check driver records. Also, an underage fee applies for each driver between 21 – 24 years of age. Additional driver and underage fees depend on the location. Check location policy.

Can I use my credit card issued in Venezuela as insurance for the car?

We are sorry, but at this moment we do not accept any credit cards issued in Venezuela as insurance due to the quote authorized by CADIVI.

Do I need to pay for additional driver if my spouse drives the car?

Check your location policy. Our location in Miami, FL charges for spouses as additional drivers.

Can I add an additional driver days after I have opened my contract?

Yes, you can add an additional driver at any time. You and the additional driver need to go to any of our offices and sign the contract.

If I bring a copy of my relative/friend’s driver license can you add that person as an additional driver?

The additional driver needs to sign the rental agreement document in front of one of our representatives. We cannot accept the copies by fax or email.

Can I use my debit card to rent the car?

Yes, you can if your driver license is issued outside the state of Florida. A credit check report might be requested at our counter. You need to pay at the moment of rental the whole amount of your contract and leave a deposit. The deposit varies depending if you accept or decline our LDW. Deposit amount also varies depending on location. Customers renting with debit card might be required to show a roundtrip ticket.

Why do I need to leave a deposit?

Deposit is required in order to cover for any extra charges that weren’t included when you rented the car. Example: tardiness on returning the car, gas, or any damages not covered by LDW.

Can I pay everything in cash?

You can pay everything in cash when you close the contract or when paying in advance for the rental. However, a credit or debit card is required for the deposit.

Do you accept Gift cards?

Yes, we accept VISA, MASTER, American Express gift cards just for payment at car return. They cannot be used to open the rental agreement.

Can I pay for another person´s rental?

Yes, you can pay. You have the following options:
-pay everything when opening the contract but the driver needs to have a credit card for the deposit and a valid driver license.
-Pay in advance with the reservation number on the webpage before opening the contract. Reservation must be made through our webpage.
-Pay everything when the car is returned.
-If you pay for another person’s rental that person is going to be required to have our Loss Damage waiver or to use his/her own full coverage insurance. Credit card insurance cannot be used in this contract.

Can I change the pick -up date of my reservation?

Yes, you can. Different rates may apply for changing the date or time. Go to our webpage www.acorentacar.com and make your changes

Can I change the car that I reserved?

Yes, you can. Be advised that changing the class may incur in a different rate. Sometimes you will need to cancel your reservation and make a new one.

Can I choose the model and color of my car?

When you make a reservation you are booking a class of car. We will try to please you at the counter choosing the model and color upon our availability. Models and colors are not guaranteed with the reservation.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

If you added your flight number at the moment the reservation was made, we will have personnel waiting. We check frequently the status of the flights and we give enough time for the immigration process. If you did not add your flight number when you booked, you can call any office in Venezuela or USA or go to our webpage www.acorentacar.com in order to update your reservation and add it.
Remember that Aco has a cancellation fee which varies depending on the location where the car was reserved.

What should I do if I get involved in an accident?

If you have an emergency call 911. As soon as you can, call our office and give all the possible details. An accident report needs to be filled out at our counter. If a third party is involved take as much information as you can.

Will you check my driving record?

Before completing your rental agreement, an employee might contact the Department of Motor Vehicles to run a driver’s license verification for primary and additional drivers. ACO reserves the right to deny rental if the driving history shows:
-invalid, suspended or revoked driver license -DUI conviction
-Expired driver license
-2 or more accidents within 3 years

Can I be picked up at the airport?

At the Miami Airport go to Departure level. Wait for a black van with green letters labeled Florida Economy Parking in gates 9-16-23-30

Do you rent SUNPASS?

Our cars are enrolled in the program EPASS. Without a transponder you can pass the tolls without paying in cash. At the moment you pass an electronic toll, you will be charged for all the amount of days the contract is opened.

I passed one toll and I did not pay in cash! What should I do?

Wait for your credit card statement. Your credit card will be charged from the day you opened the contract until the day you closed it. Charges take up to 2 months to appear in your credit card statement. The charges are going to be made by HTALLC.

Do you rent GPS?

Yes, we rent GARMIN NUVI. Charges apply.

What type of gas should I fill up my car with?

All our cars in the US use REGULAR UNLEADED GAS

Do I need to use baby seats for my children?

Yes, it is against the law to have a child under 5 inside the car without a baby seat. If you do not bring your own, we have different types depending on the age of the child.

Can I get a non smoking car?

All our cars in the US are considered non smoking cars. Charges up to $250 are applied if car has smell of cigarettes.

What is the airport return fee?

It is a charge for the service to take you directly to the terminal when the location is outside the airport. It applies in some locations. Price varies depending on location. Check your location policy.

Is the Suplemental Liability mandatory? Do I need to buy third party insurance?

We suggest you to add the SLI to your reservation. SLI provides supplemental protection to third party people or property damage. The SLI increases the limit up to $300,000.00. If the SLI is accepted, ACO will provide the financial responsibility limits on a primary basis. Otherwise, you are the primary responsible for third party damages as the Florida State requires.
